The Radar Observer Manual, 6th Edition by Samuel R. Pecota was originally developed as a companion textbook for radar observer courses established at the four Maritime Administration radar schools. Over the years, this manual has evolved and expanded while maintaining its original educational purpose.

This edition is intended for students enrolled in the U.S. Coast Guard and STCW-95-approved 80-hour Radar/ARPA course. It serves as a valuable training resource for maritime students and professional mariners developing their radar observation and navigation skills.
