S-233 Dumping Garbage - Great Lakes

SIGN: Dumping Plastic & Garbage is Illegal. "The discharge of all garbage into the Great Lakes or their connecting or tributary waters is prohibited. A person who violates the above requirement is liable for a civil penalty of up to $25,000, a fine of up to $50,000, and imprisonment for up to five years for each violation."

[Required by 46 CFR 151.59e for vessels operating on the Great Lakes.]
